A record-breaking attendance of 129,000 visitors from 26 countries and regions.

A continual increase in the number of exhibitors, totaling at 1008.

Companies from 18 countries and regions participated in CHIC2006

Featured 20 dazzling fashion shows, attracting over 32,000 attendees.

China International Clothing & Accessories Fair ( CHIC ), since the year of 1993, was held successfully from March 28th to April 6h , 2006. It has been the largest fashion exhibition in Asia and plays a key role in Chinese garments industry.

CHIC2006 was held into 2 sessions ( March 28th – 30th, 2006 for Men’s wear and Casual Wear and Accessories and April 4th – 6th, 2006 for Women’s wear, Kid’s wear and Accessories ) in Hall 1 to Hall 10 (Hall 9&10 are temporary halls) in China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, covering a total exhibition area of 120,000 square meters. There are1008 exhibitors totally with 333 companies from abroad, and that of domestic exhibitors is 675. The International Pavilions come from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Korea, Hong Kong and Macao. There are also some exhibitors who are from Belgium, Sweden, Turkey, the United States, Canada, Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Taiwan. Italian National Pavilion, organized by Italian Trade Commission ( ICE ), with an exhibition area of 2300 square meters and 50 Italian companies at both sessions, is the highlight of CHIC2006 and attracts almost all sights of 120,000 visitors. Sponsored by Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Pavilion consists of 79 companies, keeps the seat of No. 1 international Pavilion with an exhibiting area of 9,600 square meters at two sessions, which shows their great enthusiasm and confidence to the market of Mainland China. Messe Duesseldorf GmbH, the organizer of CPD, organized the Germany Pavilion to participate in CHIC 2006 for the first time with the strong support of Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Germany, AUMA-Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, and German Fashion/Fashion Association Germany. ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) arranged Spanish Pavilion, with FICE (Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries), ASEPRI (Spanish Manufacturers Association of Children’s Products, ATEXGA (Galician Textile Council) and CIE (Spanish Intertextile Council) participated. Organized by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korea Apparel Industry Association, Korea National Pavilion covers an area of 288 square meters with 20 Korea exhibitors. In particular, groups from domestic provinces and cities such as Chong Qing, Dalian, Fu Jian, Guangdong, Hangzhou, Jiangsu, Shangdong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shi Shi, Si Chuan, Tianjin, Wu Han and so on brought about each of their unique styles and flavors of apparel and accessories as highlights in front of the visitors. CHIC2006 has almost included all of the famous brands of lines in China.

In CHIC2006, the halls are divided more specific according to the product categories. In the first session, there are Hall of Classic Wear, casual wear, sports wear, leather wear, urban wear, Jeans, accessories, the Theme hall of Style Hong Kong, the Theme hall of Shanshan and overseas halls. In the second session, there are Hall of classic wear, modern woman, down wear, fur & leather wear, lingerie, kids’ wear, accessories, the Theme hall of Style Hong Kong, the Theme hall of Shanshan and overseas halls. The Group of Shanshan, one of the Chinese famous fashion company, brought about 20 of it’s fashion brands to CHIC2006 in hall 9 in both sessions.

The total visitors are 129,000 in 6 days of exhibition. 68,500 are buyers among them, covering 57% in the total number of visitors, considering that only 33% in CHIC2003.

There are 20 fashion shows including “Fashion from Europe” for both sessions during CHIC2006 which announce fashion trends in China and the world and well promote the good images of the famous fashion brands and the prestige of the clothing enterprises in the meantime.

In addition, there are numbers of other activities enriching the exhibition in CHIC2006: trade negotiation, the forums, the press conferences and so on. Some famous experts from both domestic and abroad gave excellent lectures for the exhibitors in China Garments Forum.
