Yarn Expo Spring 2007 is the leading specialty fair for fibres and yarns in Beijing

China's exploding apparel industry raises demand for these products

The event runs concurrent with Intertextile Beijing – a leading trade platform for textile makers

Yarn Expo Spring 2007, Beijing's leading international trade fair for yarn and fibres, returns 22 – 24 March 2007 to showcase products to Chinese and international textile manufacturers. The show features a wide range of fibres and yarns including fancy yarns and functional and eco-friendly fibres.

As China's apparel and textile industries continue to expand, textile manufacturers are seeking new places to source fibres and yarns, particularly middle- to high-end products. Yarn Expo attracts buyers from fabric manufacturers across China and abroad, including those exhibiting at the concurrent Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics trade show. At the 2006 Yarn Expo in Beijing, nearly 5,000 visitors came from 47 countries and regions.

Yarn and fibre producers consider the show to be one of the top niche fairs for reaching quality buyers. On display will be: natural fibres and yarns including cotton, wool, silk and linen/ramie; regenerated and synthetic man-made fibres and yarns; specialty products; elastic, fancy and blended yarns; and computer-related services.

Textile growth in China bolsters demand for yarn and fibre

China remains the world's leading apparel producer, fuelling demand for textiles, fibres and yarns. In 2005, China’s garment exports grew by 20% and in the first nine months of 2006, exports of garments increased by 32%.

As textile manufacturers focus on China's apparel industry for its outstanding growth, yarn and fibre producers are finding demand for their products on the rise. China's per capita fibre consumption grew from 7.5 kg in 2000 to 14 kg in 2005.
