Chinese 2011 chemical fiber output up in double digits

Chinese chemical fibre production rose in double digits in 2011, according to the China Business Information Website. Production of chemical fibers rose to 33.62 million tons, up 13.87 percent year on year in 2011. Among them, viscose fiber reached 2.06 million tons, a rise of 21.87 percent and polyester fiber touched 27.949 million tons, up 15.22 percent year on year. Production growth of other fibers like nylon, acrylic and vinylon fiber slowed down to less than 10 percent. The production growth rate fluctuated significantly in the first half of 2011 and the rate also sustained decline in the second half, especially after August. |
